Churches & chapels

Blatten chapel stands on a small rise, on the “Blatten" – a rock ledge in the eponymous hamlet below Furi, at an altitude of 1,740 m. This chapel is one of the best known in Zermatt, and is clearly visible from the gondolas of the Matterhorn Express.

The striking white chapel “in der Wildi” stands on the road running through the village of Randa. The small sanctuary is dedicated to the Virgin Mary.

The English Church St Peter’s is an important part of Zermatt’s history and traditions. It is closely linked to the British visitors who were among the first to want to see and experience the Matterhorn.
