Robe of Time: Photography Exhibition by Weina Venetz

Next available date: Tue, 25 Aug 2026 | 15:00 - 18:00

Matterhorn Museum, Kirchplatz 11, 3920 Zermatt

The project was developed in collaboration with the Zermatt Traditional Costume Association. In an increasingly digital world, the longing for cultural identity and grounding is ever-growing. Photographer Weina Venetz’s series, Robe of Time, speaks directly to this phenomenon. It goes beyond a simple documentation of Zermatt’s traditional costume culture; instead, it delves into the profound significance of hometown, heritage, and belonging in the 21st century—set, remarkably, amidst a vibrant, international tourist destination. The exhibition will be on view at the Matterhorn Museum from August 6th.
