There are no cars in Zermatt, so it’s obviously necessary to travel by train. Comfortable and stress free. Terminus: Zermatt Bahnhofplatz. The train travels straight to car-free Zermatt.

By car

There are no cars in Zermatt, Private vehicles are only allowed as far as Täsch. From Täsch you have to take the train, a taxi or limousine service to Zermatt.

Zermatt has always been car-free. Travellers arriving by car park in Täsch, five kilometres before Zermatt. From there, the Matterhorn Gotthard Railway takes you to the village in just 12 minutes – fast, comfortable, and right into the heart of the Matterhorn resort.
