The cable car connecting Trockener Steg and Matterhorn Glacier Paradise now presents itself in a fully modernised state, featuring the latest technology. The comprehensive upgrade enhances both guest comfort and the efficiency and sustainability of operations.

Major construction work is taking place this summer in the Patrullarve–Sunnegga–Blauherd area. After 37 years of operation, the Patrullarve chairlift, the oldest lift in Matterhorn Ski Paradise, is being replaced by a state of the art six seater chairlift.

A thrilling summer experience awaits adventure seekers in Zermatt: Mountaincarts offer a fast-paced ride on three wheels from the Rothorn down to Blauherd. The Glacier Palace at Matterhorn Glacier Paradise now welcomes visitors with a refreshed appearance. Located at 3,883 metres above sea level, a new signage concept and a redesigned entrance area provide clearer and more intuitive guidance through the fascinating world inside the glacier.

The Matterhorn Alpine Crossing captivates visitors with spectacular views, impressive highlights along the route between Zermatt and Cervinia, and a truly unique alpine experience across borders. This connection between Switzerland and Italy offers one of the most fascinating high alpine journeys in Europe.

Learning to ski in the middle of summer: From 2 May 2026, ZERMATTERS will offer a unique opportunity on the Testa Grigia. The new First SnowExperience allows complete beginners to take their first steps on skis or a snowboard in a spectacular high alpine setting at 3,458 metres above sea level, surrounded by an impressive glacier landscape.

With the summer season 2026, Mama’s Garden Terrace once again opens its doors, establishing itself as a welcoming meeting place in Zermatt. It is a space where people come together, relax and enjoy – right in the centre of the village. Whether with friends, family or after a long day in the mountains, Mama’s offers room for connection and comfort.

“La vita è bella” in the mountains: From early summer 2026, Italian joie de vivre will arrive in Zermatt. The traditional restaurant “Casa Mia” will become a “Santa Lucia”, marking Bindella’s first location beyond urban hotspots.

During summer, Elsie’s remains a place of timeless character. For more than sixty years, the small bar and restaurant at Kirchplatz in Zermatt welcomes guests with a distinctive atmosphere shaped by consistency, quality and attention to detail. Throughout the warmer months, Elsie’s continues this tradition while further developing its culinary offering.

At Hotel Berghof, guests have always been at the centre of attention – a principle that will now be reflected even more strongly in the hotel’s culinary offering. As of 1 June 2026, Reinhold Wrobel will take over as Head Chef. The experienced chef has been awarded 15 Gault & Millau points and brings extensive expertise from the upper segment of the hospitality industry.

The Zermatt–Matterhorn destination is being enriched with another culinary concept. Starting next winter season, guests can look forward to a new gastronomic highlight at a well-known location.
