Täsch: mountain adventures, winter sports and the way to Zermatt
A town of 1,200 inhabitants Täsch is around five kilometres from Zermatt, promising mountain hiking options and a well-established golf course. In winter, Täsch is the region's cross-country skiing centre. Täsch is also a transfer point for visitors travelling to Zermatt: guests leave their cars in the car parks and take the train shuttle to the car-free Matterhorn village. The village is situated on a flat valley floor at 1,449 metres above sea level. In summer, climbers set off from here on high Alpine tours in the Mischabel group. In winter, cross-country skiers head off on the 15-kilometre-long cross-country ski trails.
