You reach Täschalp (about 2,200 m above sea level) after a comfortable car trip of about 40 minutes. Here you can start your hike on the Europaweg through the larch wood and stone pine forest. Suddenly the Matterhorn glows in front of you and becomes your constant companion all the way to Zermatt. You reach Sunnegga after hiking for about 2.5 hours. There you will find places to stop in Findeln and the train ride to Zermatt, or you continue hiking through the breath-taking Zermatt mountain world.
