The path first leads to Täschhütte, where alpinists can be found climbing to Alphubel, Täschhorn, or Rimpfischhorn. Then it goes up to Weingartensee over a former lateral moraine. Barely any vegetation, steep barrenness, scree, and rock characterize this landscape. Over time the lake has dried up. Nevertheless, the place remains a great hiking destination with a wonderful view.
Above the scene towers the cumbersome Alphubel, a four-thousander that in form and name could almost be a hill. Hence the name Hubel, which in the local dialect is the term for small, round earth elevations and hilly landscapes.
