Description
There are several ways to get to the starting point of the tour: you can either start by bike from the village, join after the short train journey from Furi or choose the most relaxed option via the Matterhorn Express to Schwarzsee Lake and ride down the gravel road to Stafelalp.
After Stafelalp, a gravel path heads to an impressive power station. The wide gravel track gradually becomes a narrower trail. The scenery is different here – trees give way to an emptier landscape. The bike trail heads along the moraine of the Zmutt glacier down to the Schönbiel Hut. You soon reach the last section of the route. This leads steeply uphill and is not an easy ride. Alternatively, you can save yourself the final effort, leave the bikes at the bottom and climb up to the hut on foot.
