The Oberer Höhenweg starts below the hamlet of Findeln, which can be easily reached via Sunnegga or the 4-Lakes Bike Tour. It's worth building in a culinary stop at one of the five mountain restaurants in Findeln.
Once you have passed the Findlerhof, the hiking trail soon turns off to the right. You’ll reach the first highlight soon – keep your head down for the rock tunnel! A few metres later, a striking rock face emerges which impressively incorporates the path. This exposed and narrow passage should be negotiated by pushing. Once past this section, the path now leads for almost two kilometres at ground level along the slope through the mystical-looking forest.
The route ends on the gravel path just before the Patrullarve ski lift station. From here, after a short ascent in the opposite direction, you can join the Sunnegga flow trail at the halfway point to get back to the village.
