This route from Schwarzsee via Stafel and Zmutt to Zermatt incorporates a surprisingly long single trail in the second half of the tour. There are some extreme sections toward the end, so it's a route that’s only suitable for experienced mountain bikers.

The Matterhorn Express takes you up to Schwarzsee. From here, the route is a gravel track that leads below the Matterhorn to Stafel (power station) and over the Zmuttbach river to the other side of the valley. The single trail fun starts at this point.
The trail starts relatively flat, but its features change constantly with challenging sections. In between, there is a short, intense climb to master.
At the hamlet of Zmutt, you reach the Yoyo Trail. There are several tight bends and exposed sections to negotiate here with a few challenging metres to climb towards the end.
