Description
Discover the diversity of Piedmontese wines over lunch at the ‘Zum See’ mountain restaurant.
The robust Nebbiolo grape, known as the basis for Barolo and Barbaresco, is at its best and has made Piedmont wine what it is today: In no other region in the world does Nebbiolo produce such spectacularly complex versions as here.
Grignolino, on the other hand, is characterised by its lively acidity. Grignolino was once the most important and highest-quality grape variety in Piedmont and is now being revitalised by some first-class winegrowers, particularly in the Monferrato region. NZZ wine expert Peter Keller and oenologist Dr Ralph Tanner present their favourite wines from Piedmont.
The hosts, Marion and Markus Mennig from the Zum See mountain restaurant, will serve the matching dishes. The legendary crème slice is a must.
