Gornergrat - Rotenboden (extension via Riffelsee trail possible)

Our recommendation:

• Good footwear
• Possibly hiking poles
• Weather-appropriate clothing depending on conditions (always carry rain protection)

With some luck, you can spot an ibex. Sometimes they can also be found at specially installed salt pillars on the Gornergrat.

• Plan every mountain route carefully and adapt it to your own conditions, the weather, and the season.
• The weather can change quickly in the mountains. Therefore, bring suitable clothing and enough provisions and water. Turn back in time if the weather is uncertain.
• Inform others about your route and, if possible, never walk alone.
• Do not leave marked paths and do not go on glaciers without a mountain guide.
• Be considerate of other hikers and plants and animals.
• Observe warning signs that point to the constant danger in the riverbed and along the banks of waterways below dams and water intakes.

Attention! The path may not be passable in spring due to remaining snow.
