The trail leads through areas with and without forest, over roots and stones, meadows and pastures. Mostly in view: the compositions of the Matterhorn Gotthard Railway. Shortly before 9 am and shortly after 5 pm also the panoramic cars of the Glacier Express. At the large marmot colony, marmots only whistle when people approach. The sounds of the railway do not disturb them. Those who sit still will soon see the cute animals again.
At the Air Zermatt heliport at the entrance of the village of Zermatt, one can watch helicopter activities depending on the weather. During the rapid takeoffs and landings, it sometimes is a matter of life and death. For example, when helicopters return from their mission and the mountain rescuer is still balancing on the skids of the helicopter.
