Description

The hike leads into the quiet area of the Gornergrat, into its unknown hinterland. It passes the Kelle lake, which serves as a storage lake for piste snowmaking in winter. Fewer and fewer people can be found here. This also increases the chance to spot chamois. The path crosses the stubby alpine grass meadows and enters terrain with stones and rocks in the lower part of the Ritzigrat. Freeriders may remember carving their turns in untouched snow here in winter.

  • Swimming opportunity in Grünsee (no infrastructure available)
  • Wildlife observation possible
  • Interesting alpine flora with edelweiss
