Description

Zermatt has one of the largest wildlife areas in Switzerland. Many chamois live here. Depending on the season, mothers with their somewhat larger kids can be spotted, perhaps also young bucks or even a whole herd. Allow enough time for observing; time passes quickly.

Some animals lie relaxed on the ground, which makes them hardly visible to untrained eyes. But if you look around calmly, at the rock ledges and alpine meadows, you suddenly discover them.

  • Alpine flora: Edelweiss (protected plant)
