Reading & Conversation with Sarah Montani: “Vorfahr:in”

The book Vorfahr:in explores origins, memory, and the question of how we ourselves can become good ancestors. It weaves family history with cultural studies and restores a place to forgotten voices, especially those of women. This evening, the author will not only read from her work, but in conversation with publisher Rico Erpen will also offer insights into the book’s genesis. Where did the idea come from, what surprises did the research bring, and what does it mean to dive into one’s own past? How do we become good ancestors? A special highlight of the reading: we will bring the first ancestress, the Dame de Salquenen, to life using augmented reality.
