Kirchplatz & Pfarrkirche St.Mauritius Zermatt, 3920 ZermattThe Tuba-Christmas idea started in America, with the first concert taking place in 1974 on the Rockefeller Plaza ice skating rink in New York. Since then, Tuba-Christmas has spread around the world, becoming steadily more popular. Musicians meet up with their tuba family instruments to play Christmas songs together. The deep, rich tones of the brass instruments and the large number of participants create a wonderfully festive atmosphere.
Tuba-Christmas in Zermatt is organised by Ueli Kipfer, an internationally renowned conductor, euphonium soloist, lecturer and brass competition jury member. In case of cold temperatures the second part of the concert will take place in the church St.Mauritius.
