Description

The Sunnegga Trail can be easily reached by train: In Zermatt, take the funicular up to Sunnegga. Once at the top, you get a striking view of the Matterhorn. The trail begins immediately below the Sunnegga station and is well suited for beginners, families, and advanced riders alike.

Over almost six kilometers, the bike trail meanders alternately between open land and mystical Swiss pine forests, descending about 500 meters in elevation towards the valley. The Sunnegga Trail ends a little above Zermatt, from where you can reach the Sunnegga valley station and the village again within a few minutes on a wide service road.

Alternatively to the funicular, the approximately 700 meters of elevation to Sunnegga can also be managed by muscle power via Zermatt-Sunnegga Uphill.
