Schweifinen via ferrata - route B

Access: From Zermatt station through Bahnhofstrasse. Shortly after the office of the Zermatters, the hiking trail towards Edelweiss and Trift branches off to the right. Follow it uphill, out of the village and towards the Trift gorge. Before the path leads to the bridge over the Triftbach, the path to the entrance of the via ferrata branches right (approx. 30 minutes).

Descent: At the exit, follow the path back to the village. (approx. 20 minutes)

Our recommendation:

• Good, suitable footwear
• Clothing appropriate to the weather conditions
• Climbing harness, helmet, and via ferrata set
• Drink and food supplies

Important! Recommended: surefootedness, no fear of heights, mountain experience

• Plan the route carefully and adapt it to your own conditions as well as to the weather and time of year. Do not start the via ferrata in case of thunderstorm risk.
• Use complete and standard-compliant equipment.
• Assess your own skills well.
• The via ferrata can also be done with a mountain guide.
• Keep sufficient distance from other users.
• Abseiling point is only to be used with a mountain guide.

Note: Pay attention to weather. A thunderstorm in a via ferrata with metal elements becomes a mortal danger.
