Important! Recommended: surefootedness, no fear of heights, mountain experience

It is worth taking a few souvenir photos because the view from the Mettelhorn is beautiful: below lies on one side the village of Zermatt and on the other the Mattertal valley. Close at hand are also the two four-thousanders Zinalrothorn (4,221 m) and the Weisshorn (4,506 m).

• Plan every mountain route carefully and adapt to your own conditions as well as the weather and the season.
• The weather can change rapidly in the mountains. Therefore, take suitable clothing and enough provisions and water. In uncertain weather, turn back in good time.
• Inform third parties about the route and if possible never go alone.
• Do not leave marked paths and do not go onto glaciers without a mountain guide.
• Be considerate towards other hikers as well as plants and animals.
• Observe warning signs that point out the constant danger in the riverbed and on the banks of watercourses below dams and reservoirs.

Note: Pay special attention to weather and route length. Be cautious on wet paths and terrain.
