Description
Zermatt Unplugged 2022: Nick Mulvey performs at the Loft – the venue, the festival, the artist – it all just clicks. Nick's songs are finely crafted, driven by a quest for what he considers true. With guitar in hand, he navigates a musical landscape that oscillates between alternative, indie and pop, all shaped by a long and intense cultural journey that began with a study of the arts in Cuba. He went on to study ethnomusicology in London, where he engaged with the rhythms and melodies of West and Central Africa. Before launching his highly successful solo career, Nick Mulvey gave the jazz group Portico Quartet its signature sound; an avant-gardist to the bone, he played the Hang – a musical instrument that was developed in Berne in the 90s.
