Mountain Breeze Instead of Sea Breeze: The Rooftop Bar by Pavillon Brings Beach Vibes to the Obere Matten
Summer in Zermatt just got even better. Pavillon is expanding its “feel home” concept with the new Rooftop Bar by Pavillon – a rooftop terrace offering what is arguably one of the most beautiful views of the Matterhorn in Zermatt.
When the sun reaches its peak above the Obere Matten, the rooftop terrace switches into holiday mode. Between Spritz, Margaritas and Mojitos, a touch of Copacabana drifts through the mountain air. A small and uncomplicated menu featuring dishes such as the “Mediterranean Burger” completes the experience.
In good weather, the Rooftop Bar is open daily from 1.00 pm – perfect for an apéritif after a hike, a sundowner with friends, or a little getaway in between. The season kicked off with an opening party and DJ set on Sunday, 14 June. More DJ sessions and events will follow throughout the summer, providing the perfect soundtrack for sunny days in Zermatt.
A special highlight this summer is the 2026 FIFA World Cup. Thanks to its excellent view of the giant screen on the Obere Matten, the Rooftop Bar is the ideal place for public viewing and enjoying the matches together.
