The Matterhorn becomes a music star: Linda Fäh releases “Matterhorn”
What happens when the Matterhorn is not just the backdrop, but becomes part of a musical story itself? With the song “Matterhorn”, Linda Fäh and Zermatt Tourism are breaking new ground: for the first time, Switzerland’s most famous landmark officially becomes the “Featuring Guest” of a song.
For Linda Fäh, the Matterhorn is connected to a very personal story. She first encountered the mountain in 2009 during a television appearance, after failing to recognise it in a picture as a Miss Switzerland contestant. Daniel Luggen, then Director of Tourism in Zermatt, subsequently invited her to Zermatt. In 2012, Linda Fäh climbed the Matterhorn herself. These experiences left a lasting impression and form the emotional foundation of the new song.
“Matterhorn” tells a story of inspiration, respect, courage, challenge and the fascination that the mountain has inspired in people for generations. Rather than simply singing about the Matterhorn, the project presents it as an independent character and co-creator of the story.
The release is accompanied by a multi-stage campaign. Following a mysterious teaser phase on social media, a series of short films documents the creative process behind the song. The films and visual campaign were created by Justin Ben Thomas. The strategic idea, storyline and campaign concept “Linda Fäh featuring Matterhorn” were developed by LOY. Agency.
Since Friday, 18 September 2026, “Matterhorn” has been available on Spotify and other major streaming platforms. The song is the third single from Linda Fäh’s Swiss German album “Heimat im Härz”, scheduled for release in January 2027.
With the project, Zermatt brings together music, culture, lifestyle and alpine identity, presenting the Matterhorn from a new and emotional perspective.
